Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know Counselling is for me and I am ready?

You will know or have a pretty good idea that you are ready to let someone else in who won't judge you but will help you work through those issues you can't seem to address on your own. To assist with this an initial meeting will be mutually arranged to ensure you feel safe and comfortable.

How do I book an appointment?

You can either ring me on 07766655520 OR e-mail me on: paul.noke@btinternet.com to agree a mutually convenient time for an assessment to help decide if counselling is the right path for you. I am easy to find and within a few minutes from Guildford, Godalming and Haslemere.

How many sessions will I need?

This is very dependent on your needs and commitment to change. It may be you only need a few sessions to make sense of what is going on for you OR it may take you longer to build a relationship based on trust, respect and safety due to a lack of these in your life. At the same time, it is helpful for us to agree mutually in advance when the counselling will end so that we have time to bring things to a close.

How often are the sessions?

Sessions are usually weekly and last for 50 minutes (for couples it's 60 minutes). By mutual agreement, we will arrange a day and time which then becomes your 'personal space' for counselling. This will only be changed by further mutual agreement.
Supervision - the approved requirement is 90 minutes a month

How much do the sessions cost?

I normally charge £100 for individuals and £115 for couples.

Supervision - £100 an hour/£150 for 90 minutes

In exceptional circumstances I will consider means testing and ALSO offer discount to students

RESTORATIVE JUSTICE (RJ) MEDIATION

Why would I or my company/organisation consider using RJ Mediation?

RJ Mediation can help bring people together and mend differences. It encourages people to safely and confidentially share their opinions, feelings and thoughts. Just as importantly it gives people the opportunity to make good where they may have got it wrong.

What will happen if ask for mediation?

I will meet individually with the parties involved in the mediation and hear their story, what they want to get out of mediation and how they feel. I then explain the process, timings, aims, objectives and possible outcomes. Then if all are agreeable I will call a conference which I will facilitate at a venue all are happy with. The conference will be run with clear boundaries to ensure safety, trust and respect.

If a conference is not the best way forward then I will do what is known as 'shuttle' or 'ping pong' mediation. This is where I visit each party individually, explain the process and hear what they have to say. I then share this with each party looking for a resolution that all are happy with.

How do I arrange Mediation?

Contact me on the mobile number or e-mail address above and we can agree a suitable time to meet and I will take you through the process.

How much will it cost?

This depends on the type of mediation, number of people involved and number of visits/conferences required. I can give an idea of cost once I know the answers to these questions.
